Midwest Regional Conference on Reaching Unbanked People; Making Business Sense of Serving the Unbanked Chicago, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago230 South LaSalle Street, Chicago, Illinois As part of the National Strategy for Financial Literacy and Chicago Money Smart Week 2006, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the US Department of the Treasury, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the National Credit Union Administration, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago invite you to join them for a Regional Conference on Reaching Unbanked People to be held May 1, 2006 in Chicago. Banks and credit unions across the Midwest are increasing their customer bases by tapping into a new market: unbanked consumers. Reaching unbanked populations requires creative thinking, and often involves working with community organizations that have access to and the trust of unbanked individuals. At the May 1st meeting, you'll hear from some of the most innovative financial institutions and partner organizations reaching out to unbanked consumers in the Midwest. The Conference also will provide a forum to share your observations and ideas with the convening agencies and with other practitioners. May 1st is the first of a series of conferences that will be held nationwide. The proceedings of the conferences will be compiled to provide a report on current and best practices for serving unbanked individuals. Questions: Louisa Quittman at Louisa.Quittman@do.treas.gov or (202) 622-8103. Attendance at the conference is free. Lunch is included as well.
